BuildBrief is a free tool that turns a rough idea into a lightweight, AI-assisted teardown, shown to you on the spot. Here's what we collect and how it's handled — in plain terms.

What we collect

Just the rough idea you type in. We do not ask for or collect your email, name, or any account. For abuse prevention, our storage keeps only a hashed (one-way) form of your IP address — we never store your raw IP. We also use a Cloudflare Turnstile human check; to run it, Cloudflare receives your IP address to confirm you're human, under Cloudflare's own processing.

Why

To generate your teardown and show it back to you, and to run basic anti-abuse and cost limits so the free tool stays available.

Who processes it

  • Vercel — hosting and the app.
  • Upstash (Redis) — short-lived anti-abuse counters.
  • OpenAI — generates the teardown from your idea.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — the are-you-human check.
  • Vercel Analytics — anonymous usage counts, no personal data.

How long we keep it

We don't store your idea in a database to serve it back — it's generated and returned in the same request. Anti-abuse counters auto-expire within about 48 hours, and Vercel Analytics records anonymous usage counts. We do not sell or share your information.

About the AI output

The teardown is AI-assisted, may be incomplete, and is for informational use only — a starting point, not professional advice or a full build spec. Review it before relying on it.

Your choices

Please don't submit sensitive information (passwords, confidential business secrets, health, legal, or financial details). Because we don't collect your email, name, or account, and don't keep your idea after the teardown is returned, there's no identifiable record tied to you to delete — only the short-lived, hashed anti-abuse counters, which expire on their own.
